Fun Photoshoots with Kids

What better way to have fun and create memories that you'll look back on in years to come than creating a fun photo shoot with the kids. Photographers take some great photos, yes.

They also charge hundreds of dollars. These ideas certainly don't replace a professional photographers artform, but they let you have a lot of fun and they're not going to cost you any money.

A great photoshoot idea for little ones is the "Dad's little helper".

Make sure Dad and Son or Daughter are dressed in matching clothing and go nuts, you can get little suits and pretend to be on a business call, little singlets (for construction workers), toy fireman helmets work great and little nurse outfits would be absolutely adorable.

You can also do "Helping Dad build stuff" as a theme, sure to spark great memories in years to come and make you laugh, looking back.

Another great idea for a photo shoot involves a bright sunny day, the pavement outside and a box of chalk.

Have your kids lie down on the pavement and then draw scenes around them as if they're in a different world.

Take inspiration for the scenes from the kids favourite books or movies, or just come up with something interesting.

You don't need to be an artist to draw some palm trees and a beach, bonus points for dressing the kids up in outfits matching the scenery!

Of course, don't forget the simplest photo shoot with the kids involves silly faces. Lots and lots of silly, silly faces.

Encourage them to make ridiculous noises and bare their teeth with maximum eyebrow thrown in for good measure. Anything really.

Dressing them up in anything ridiculous that they love to wear. Letting them choose their own outfit (providing diverse options here is key) can sometimes yield some spectacular results!

Don't forget about themed photos to keep track of a little one as he or she grows.

If you manage to take one photo of the same type every year for even just three years in a row, it would look absolutely outstanding on the wall.

It looks even better if you manage to include the number of their age in each photograph. This also ties into the "grandma holding mum holding daughter" photo inside photo that's become semi-popular in the last few years.

Also! If you have a favourite old photo of grandma or grandad, or even one of you as a kid, attempting to recreate it with your own kids then displaying them side by side is sure to be a huge hit with the whole family.
