Super Cool Galaxy Dough Recipe
An easy recipe for some super awesome sparkly goodness! It's mostly the same recipe as for any good playdough mixture, just change the colour and don't forget to add the glitter!
Ingredients
~ 2 cups of plain flour
~ 1 1/2 cups of boiling water with black and blue food colouring (most of a bottle of black, if you want the nice deep colour)
~ 2 tbsp of baby oil
~ 2 tbsp cream of tartar
~ A few drops of Glycerin (available from supermarkets)
~ 3/4 cup of salt
~ Glitter! Predominantly silver with a bit of gold, red, blue and purple looks the best for Galaxy Dough, but don't let your creativity be hindered!
Method
1. Combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a bowl and mix them well.
2. Add in the coloured boiling water, the oil and the glycerine and mix them all well. Continue mixing until the playdough is formed and then knead the dough for a few minutes until it reaches a stretchy consistency.
3. Super stretchy dough is now yours! Finish it up by adding the glitter.
The kids love this stuff, show them now to roll it into pipes and then combine it into shapes.
Add in some other galaxy themed toys or objects for added fun!
The local $2 dollar shop is bound to have something.
Seal the dough in an airtight container and it'll last up to 6 months.
The baby oil and glycerine keeps it stretchy and soft for a really long time.
If it starts to dry out, mix in more baby oil to give it new life.
